“Community associations play an important role in promoting education, social, traditional, heritage, and cultural programmes that enhance ethics and good moral values to our younger generation.

“They can respond in many ways to the needs of our society by fostering and supporting our younger generation to fully understand our multicultural diversity and help build a more caring and united community,” he said at the dinner last night (Nov 16).

Yap also took the opportunity to share that the Sarawak Budget 2025 with a total ordinary expenditure of RM13.7 billion and projected revenue of RM14.2 billion which is expected to generate a surplus of RM486 million, is focused on infrastructure and improving people’s lives.

“Our policies in Sarawak are inclusive. No one is left behind, regardless of race or religion. Let Sarawak continue to lead by example, showing what true unity looks like,” he added.

To further support the association’s efforts, Yap announced a grant of RM25,000 to help with their social welfare initiatives and another RM10,000 for their education programmes. — DayakDaily
