KUCHING, Feb 19: Nine finalists will be competing in the Mrs Grand Sabah and Sarawak beauty pageant for a spot to represent the State at the national level in Kuala Lumpur in March.
The pageant’s committee member Diana Alin, who is representing state director of Sabah and Sarawak for Mrs Grand International Malaysia Dr Deborah Chong, said the nine finalists will be competing in the grand final that will be held in Kuching on March 5.
“Thereafter the winners will represent Sarawak and Sabah at the national level in Kuala Lumpur on March 12, respectively,” said Diana during a press conference held at a local hotel, today.
Diana noted, during this period since the audition, this platform has encouraged the finalists to be a better version of themselves physically and mentally.
“They have learned to catwalk, including grooming, posture and photoshooting techniques and learned about advocacy which they can gain massive experiences to step out from their comfort zone,” she added.
She also hoped the first time event held in Sabah and Sarawak will create better opportunities for married woman, divorced or single mothers, to step out their comfort zone in creating better perspectives of their mindsets in influencing the society geared towards Mrs Grand International’s objectives with their voices.
The Mrs Grand Sarawak and Sabah pageant open audition was held on Jan 15 and 16 this year at Borneo 744 in Kuching.
The audition were divided into three categories, namely Standard Category (18 to 28-years-old), Classic Category (29 to 40-years-old), and Royal Category (41 to 60-years-old).
Also present were Mrs Grand Sabah and Sarawak assistant state director Peter Teo and committee members Elizabeth Sharon. — DayakDaily
