9 compound notices issued for various RMCO offences

KUCHING, Aug 17: A total of nine compound notices were issued by the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) throughout the state for flaunting the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) standard operating procedure (SOP).

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement today, disclosed that the compound notices were issued in Miri (two), Padawan (two), Limbang (two) Kuching (one), Kota Samarahan (one) and Betong (one).

“At the same time, one Indonesian man was arrested in a restaurant in Limbang for not complying with the SOP and failed to practise the physical distancing,” the statement read.


SDMC also advised the public to not be complacent and remain vigilant, while continuing to practise the new norm.

“PDRM will continue to tighten the enforcement of the SOP, including the use of facemasks in public places,” the statement added.

On another note, SDMC revealed a total of 148 Persons-Under-Surveillance (PUS) registered for quarantine, as of today.

“This brings the total number of PUS to 683 individuals, which is currently undergoing their quarantine process in 16 hotels throughout the state,” it added. — DayakDaily
