80 compounds issued for SOP violations in Sarawak

KUCHING, July 7: Sarawak saw a total of 80 compound notices issued for various standard operation procedure (SOP) violations statewide in the last 24 hours.

This includes 24 people who did not use their face masks, 13 found loitering in public places after midnight, 13 found driving vehicles exceeding the passenger limit, 12 found gathering and failing to practice physical distancing and six for failing to scan the MySejahtera app.

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in its daily update also said 10 non-essential premises were compounded for operating their businesses while two person were caught dining-in.


One Indonesian national was arrested by the police for failing to scan the MySejahtera app at a sawmill in Kuching.

The cumulative number of compounds issued by the police in Sarawak now stands at 8,960. — DayakDaily
