BAU, Jan 21: Eight houses at Kampung Tringgus Rabak Rotan were hit by a flash flood earlier tonight.
According to a report by the Malaysia Civil Defence Force (APM), the Bau district operations control centre received an emergency call about the incident at 7.05pm.
Personnel were deployed at 7.28pm and arrived at the location at approximately 8pm.
Upon arrival, it was noted that eight houses were affected by the flash flood.
“Continuous rain caused several houses in low-lying areas close to the stream to be affected.
“The weather conditions at present are still drizzling rain, and so far the water level is receding,” said the report.
The report also stated that at this moment, no temporary flood relief centre (PPS) has been opened. — DayakDaily
