7th consecutive day of zero Covid-19 positive cases in Sarawak

KUCHING, July 5: Sarawak recorded zero positive Covid-19 cases for the seventh day straight as Bintulu turned into green zone status.

According to the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement today, six patients under investigation (PUI) were also reported, while five other cases are still waiting for laboratory test results.

“As of today, no new positive Covid-19 case is reported and the total number of Covid-19 cases in Sarawak remains at 571 cases. Currently, eight individuals are being treated in the hospital isolation ward, and the death toll remained at 17 cases.

“Today, Bintulu has also changed its status from yellow to green zone. This brings the number of districts in the green zone to 38 while two districts are in yellow zone,” it said.

On another note, SDMC also disclosed that some 2,154 business premises have been monitored by 657 officers from the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) task force from various government agencies throughout the state.

“For today, six roadblocks are also conducted in five districts, namely in Lundu (2) and one each in Bau, Serian, Sri Aman and Lubok Antu, in conjunction with the Op Benteng with 1,084 vehicles being inspected,” added the statement. –DayakDaily.
