KUCHING, Oct 16: A 78-year-old man from Kuching who needed assistance in daily life was among 13 Covid-19 deaths reported in Sarawak today while there were also two brought-in-dead (BID) cases.
The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said the deaths which occurred between Oct 11 and 16 have pushed the State’s death toll to 1,097.
One death was reported on Oct 11 involving a 90-year-old man from Sibu who had high blood pressure.
On Oct 12, five deaths were reported, including a BID case involving an 80-year-old woman from Sri Aman who had high blood pressure and dyslipidemia.
There were three casualties each reported on Oct 13 and Oct 14, involving individuals aged between 48 and 89. All victims had comorbidities except for an 89-year-old woman from Kuching who needed assistance in daily life.
Additionally, the youngest victim on Oct 13, a man aged 48 from Kuching who had high blood pressure, was a BID case.
A woman aged 67 was the most recently reported victim of Covid-19 who passed away in Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) yesterday (Oct 16). She had high blood pressure and diabetes. — DayakDaily
