Lo: N.13 Batu Kitang Service Centre extending food aid to those in need outside constituency

KUCHING, Oct 17: Food assistance distributed through N.13 Batu Kitang Service Centre will be extended to those in need in other areas too, said Batu Kitang assemblyman Lo Khere Chiang.

According to Lo, who is also chairman for Padawan Municipal Council (MPP), his N.13 Batu Kitang Service Centre today has received 500 bags of rice and dry food provisions from the Kuching and Kota Samarahan Hawkers and Petty Traders Association, to be distributed in his constituency.

“I promise that I will make use of this donation to help the most needy in my area, and because I received these donation from such a big organisation, I will help those who are really in need of help.


“Not just for those in Batu Kitang and for those who approached us, but also to those who need it outside of my area too,” he told reporters during the handing over ceremony of Caring Food Aid program held at N.13 Batu Kitang Service Centre, here today.

Lo noted, the programme, which was organised by the Kuching and Kota Samarahan Hawkers and Petty Traders Association, saw a total of 800 bags of food aid donated by 38 Food Street to be distributed to those in need.

He added, 200 of the bags will be distributed in Batu Kitang constituency through the N.13 Batu Kitang Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Women’s wing, while another 300 bags will be distributed through N.13 Batu Kitang Service Centre to those in need.

Lo also conveyed his gratitude to the Kuching and Kota Samarahan Hawkers and Petty Traders Association for organising this programme, and 38 Food Street for their donation.

Earlier today, 38 Food Street distributed 300 bags of food assistance in Hui Sing area under the Caring Food Aid program. — DayakDaily.
