KUCHING, July 27: A 71-year old man succumbed to his injuries after being involved in a single-vehicle road accident near Paragon along Jalan Batu Kawah.
According to a report from Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operation center today, they received a call regarding the incident at 10.35pm on July 26 and dispatched Bomba Batu Lintang personnel to the location.
The victim, identified as Ateng Jeros, was pronounced dead at the location by medical personnel from the Ministry of Health (MOH) after he was extracted from the vehicle.
Another victim, a woman, suffered minor injuries and managed to get out of the vehicle by herself before the arrival of firefighters.
She was later given initial medical treatment at the location before being transported to the hospital.
In the incident, the vehicle which the two individuals were in overturned, pinning the deceased in his seat. — DayakDaily
