7 people in single Kancil injured in two-vehicle collision on Pan Borneo Highway

BINTULU, Nov 17: A road accident involving two vehicles on the Pan Borneo Highway near Batu 17, Simpang Bakun, Bintulu, left seven people injured this afternoon.

According to a report by Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), the accident, which occurred at around 3.15pm, involved a Perodua Kancil and a Toyota Hilux.

A team from the Bintulu Fire and Rescue Station (BBP Bintulu), led by operation commander PBK II Polly Untang, arrived at the scene at 3.41pm, approximately 25 kilometers away from the station.

According to initial reports, two passengers in the Perodua Kancil sustained serious injuries, while five others including four children aged between 5 to 10, suffered minor injuries.

The driver of the Toyota Hilux however, escaped unscathed.

Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) personnel and the Ministry of Health (KKM) collaborated at the site to transport the injured to the hospital. EMRS Bintulu transported three victims, while KKM transported two others. — DayakDaily
