7 new faces among 20 political secretaries sworn in today

KUCHING, April 1: Seven new faces are among the 20 political secretaries to the Premier of Sarawak who are sworn in before Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg at Wisma Bapa Malaysia here today.

Of the new faces, Hajis Japar Labaw, Dominic Nyurang Ajang, Watson Awan Jalai, Collin Patan and Afiq Fikri Brahim are from Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) while Thomas Balan Bang is from Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) and Joshua Ting Fu Ying, Progressive Democratic Party (PDP).


Meanwhile, Petrus Igat Mathias, Sarkawi Suhaili, Romeo Christopher Tegong, Fridah Osman, Dayang Nurfizawati Abang Abdul Karim, Abdul Samat Kethergany, John Nyigor, Damen Rejek, Sayed Azmee Wan Junaidi and Awangku Jinal Abedin Dato Pengiran Jawa from PBB are reappointed for the post.

Susan Clement Ingun of PRS, PDP’s Fung Kok Shiun@Brian Fung and Cr Niponi Undek from Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) are among those continue to hold the post.

The appointments of these political secretaries take effect today (April 1, 2024) and will last for two years.

Deputy Premiers Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian, Minister of Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development (M-FICORD) Dato Sri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom, Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development (MEITD) Dato Sri Roland Sagah Wee Inn, Deputy Minister of Transport Sarawak (Maritime and Riverine) Dato Henry Harry Jinep, PRS president Datuk Joseph Salang Gandum and Chief Political Secretary Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman were among those present. — DayakDaily
