SIBU, Sept 3: Seven men have been compounded RM1,500 each for not observing social distancing while playing ‘Mahjong’ and ‘Tou Gee” on Wednesday.
Sibu district police chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said today that the seven were caught during a raid at an association’s premises at Jalan Foochow here at 1.15pm.
“A police anti-vice squad during a raid on the premises found seven persons sitting in two tables where only two persons each are allowed on a table during this Phase 3 of the national recovery plan,” he said.
The compounds were issued Regulation 17 (1) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures Within the Infected Local Areas) Regulations 2021.
“Swab tests conducted on them came back negative of Covid-19,” he said. — DayakDaily
