KUCHING, Aug 28: A six-year-old boy was reported to have died after being trapped in one of the five houses destroyed in a fire at RPR Batu Kawa here this afternoon.
According to a report by the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), the boy was identified as Zayyan Nazeem Zainal Abidin.
The Bomba first received the call at 1.12pm this afternoon about a fire involving the five two-storey terrace houses.
The firefighters finally found the victim’s charred body at 3.33pm in a room at the upper level of the second house.
The body was then handed over to the police for further action.
Additionally, Bomba reported that the first two houses were fully razed in the fire while the third house recorded about 60 per cent destruction, followed by the fourth house at 50 per cent and the last house at 20 per cent. — DayakDaily
