KUCHING, April 26: Sarawak’s ‘King of the River’ empurau fish, one specimen weighing as much as 6kg, is among the highlights at the ongoing Singapore EXPO.
According to a social media post by Sarawak Trade and Tourism Office Singapore (Statos), many Singaporeans were checking out Sarawak’s empurau fish yesterday (April 25).
“It is only the first day, and there were a lot of enquiries from the visitors. There are a lot of people checking out this huge 6kg empurau.
“It could very well be the only empurau this big among over 1,500 stalls here,” Statos wrote today.
Meanwhile, there are 37 other Sarawak companies that are participating in the Singapore EXPO to promote products locally made or available only in Sarawak.
Some of them include Sarawak’s layered cakes, bird’s nest, coffee, ‘tuak’ (rice wine), butter, ‘kampua’ mee, and laksa.
The four-day food show will be open to the public until Friday (April 28), from 10am to 6pm, at the Singapore Expo Hall 6.
