KUCHING, Jan 12: The operating hours for economic sectors allowed to run under the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) have been adjusted to 6am-10pm.
The standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the CMCO will be enforced in three zones, namely Kuching (including Samarahan and Serian), Sibu (including Sarikei) and Miri starting at midnight tonight (12.01am) until Jan 26 at 11.59pm.
The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), in a statement today, revealed that the SOP will follow that which has been issued by National Security Council (MKN) Sarawak that can be found via its official portal at www.mkn.gov.my.
When contacted by DayakDaily, a spokesperson from SDMC said that the SOPs and guidelines are still being gazetted to give them legal effect before being made public.
However, most of the SOPs and guidelines are quite similar to those which had been issued in May and November last year.
Basically, all economic activities except entertainment outlets can operate as usual with strict compliance with SOPs including reducing capacity to half, physical distancing, daily cleaning and sanitisation, mask wearing, and ensuring a high standard of hygiene at all times.
Social and official events which will involve mass gatherings of people are only allowed up to a maximum of 200 people but subjected to size of space as well as physical distancing. — DayakDaily
