67 Covid-19 cases confirmed in two separate longhouse clusters in Tatau and Meradong

KUCHING, July 4: A total of 67 Covid-19 cases were traced to two longhouses in Tatau and Meradong respectively, leading to two new Covid-19 clusters to be declared.

According to the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in its daily report, the longhouses involved in the Sungai Entajum Cluster in Tatau and the Sungai Pelepak Cluster in Meradong have been each placed under an Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO).


For the Sungai Entajum Cluster, a total of 112 longhouse residents have been swabbed, and 41 have tested positive while 71 are awaiting Covid-19 swab test results.

As for the Sungai Pelepak Cluster, a total of 163 individuals have been screened for Covid-19 with 26 testing positive, 61 testing negative and the remaining 76 individuals awaiting Covid-19 swab test results.

All Covid-19 cases have been admitted to various health facilities for treatment.

On the other hand, the Jalan Agama Cluster in Miri was declared ended.

Thus far, there are 97 active Covid-19 clusters in Sarawak, of which 19 reported 157 new cases today. — DayakDaily
