SARIKEI, Dec 25: A 65-year-old man sustained injuries and was rushed to the hospital after a three-vehicle collision along the Jakar section of Pan Borneo Highway this morning.
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarikei responded to the emergency at 9.50am and immediately dispatched a team of firefighters to the scene.
The accident involved two 4WD vehicles and a Perodua Kembara, with the victim trapped in the driver’s seat of the Kembara.
Firefighters quickly assessed the situation and used specialised tools to safely extricate the victim.
He was handed over to paramedics and rushed to Sarikei Hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, the drivers of the two 4WD vehicles, aged 57 and 31, escaped unhurt.
The operation concluded at 10.50am after firefighters cleared the road of debris and ensured the site was safe. — DayakDaily
