The vehicle, driven by the deceased, had veered off the road and plunged into a roadside ditch.

The Bomba team from Siburan Fire Station (Siburan BBP) arrived at the scene at 6.20am, 10 minutes after receiving the distress call.

The operation to free the victim, who was trapped in the driver’s seat, faced significant challenges due to waist-high water levels in the ditch, which made it difficult to set up the necessary rescue equipment.

Despite the team’s efforts using Road Traffic Accident (RTA) equipment, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The operation was concluded by 8.30am, and the deceased’s body was handed over to the police for further investigation. — DayakDaily
