KUCHING, April 28: Six out of ten General Operations Force (GOF) units of a barrack block were destroyed in a fire in Lanang on Sunday night (April 27).
According to a report from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), a call was received at 7.58pm, and firefighters from the Sibu Central station were deployed.
“The operations commander noted that the incident involved ten unoccupied units, whereby six were destroyed and firefighters managed to save the remaining four,” said the report.
The fire was controlled by 8.39pm, and the operation ended at 9.55pm.
No casualties were reported.
The cause of the fire and estimated loss are still being investigated. — DayaDaily
