Elderly woman found dead in drain at Kpg Tunku in Kuching, police launch probe

KUCHING, April 28: Police are conducting further investigations regarding the discovery of an elderly woman’s body in a drain at Kampung Tunku, Jalan Astana, here last Friday (April 25).

According to TVS, Kuching district police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu, the 82-year-old woman was identified as a local and has been brought to the Sarawak General Hospital’s (SGH) Forensic Department for further action.

“We received a report on the discovery at around 5.41pm,” he said in a statement.

Members of the public with information on the incident are asked to contact the Gita police station chief, ASP Syed Zainal Abidin, at 019-5131156.

Meanwhile, Alexson also advised the public not to speculate on the case to ensure the investigation process is carried out smoothly, as well as out of respect for the victim’s family. — DayakDaily
