KUCHING, Aug 12: Malaysian rapper Altimet, whose full name is Syed Ahmad Syed Abdul Rahman Alhadad, won the Lembah Jaya seat in the Selangor state election today.
The 45-year-old won under the Pakatan Harapan (PH) ticket, defeating Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidate Sharifah Haslizah Syed Ariffin with a 6,678-vote majority.
Altimet is also the chief of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Ampang division.

With the victory, Altimet is now the second celebrity to become an elected representative after actress Dira Abu Zahar, the incumbent assemblywoman for the Rim seat in Malacca. — DayakDaily
