SIBU, Jan 28: The police have issued compounds totalling RM6,000 to five customers and the coffeeshop owner for not adhering to the Covid-19 standard operating procedure (SOP) yesterday (Jan 27).

Sibu district acting police chief, Supt Collin Babat said at about 11am, an integrated SOP  monitoring team led by ASP Kushairy Bujang went to a coffeeshop at Lane 2, Jalan Lanang here for an inspection.

“Five customers of the shop were found not observing physical distancing as they were sitting in two tables put next to each other,” he said.

The female operator of the shop had failed to impose the SOP in her premises, thus also compounded.

The compounds were issued under Regulation 17 (1) and (2) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures Within the Infected Local Areas) Regulations 2021. — Dayakdaily
