KUCHING, July 6: A total of 58 Covid-19 cases were detected at two longhouses in Subis, triggering the new Sungai Sengkabang Cluster.
According to the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in its daily update of the Covid-19 situation in Sarawak today, a total of 210 longhouse folks have been swabbed for Covid-19.
Out of that number, 58 tested positive, 126 tested negative and 26 individuals are waiting for the results of their Covid-19 swab test.
SDMC said both longhouses which are located in Sungai Sengkabang in Ulu Sebuti, Bekenu, Subis have been placed under the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO).
The committee disclosed that the Covid-19 patients from the longhouses were admitted to Miri Hospital and the Covid-19 Low-Risk Quarantine Centre (PKRC) for isolation and treatment.
On the other hand, three clusters namely the Jalan Dato Permaisuri Cluster in Miri, Ulu Sebakong Cluster in Mukah and Kampung Hilir Lingga Cluster in Sri Aman have ended.
With that, there are 96 active clusters in Sarawak out of which 11 clusters registered 82 new cases of Covid-19 and the balance of 85 clusters did not report new cases. — DayakDaily
