KUCHING, March 3: A 57-year-old woman feared missing in the forest near Kampung Simpok, Padawan, was found safe by villagers at a farm approximately 2 kilometers (km) from the main road earlier tonight.
The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) reported receiving a distress call at 7.50pm and immediately deployed a team from the Siburan Fire and Rescue Station (BBP Siburan) and the Simpok Volunteer Fire Brigade (PBS Simpok).
A total of seven personnel, along with one Fire Rescue Tender (FRT) and one Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) vehicle, were dispatched to the scene.
The team, led by Shaiful Ismail Othman, arrived at 8.03pm. Upon arrival, they were informed by villagers that the missing individual had been located.
“The victim was successfully found by the SAR team in a safe condition and was brought out of the forested area.
“Subsequently, she was handed over to the police for further action,” the report said. – DayakDaily
