KUCHING, March 30: A total of 56 individuals in Sarawak have been charged in court for not complying with the Movement Control Order (MCO), revealed Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah.
According to Uggah, the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) reported that public compliance with the MCO remains at 95 per cent in the state, as the order entered its 13th day.
“Yesterday, the police made 67 arrests, which brings the total arrest in Sarawak to 229 cases, and for today, a total of 31 cases have been brought to court with 56 individuals charged,” he revealed.
Meanwhile, Uggah also reminded Sarawakians residing outside the state to stay put and remain calm.
He said that he understands their situation of being far away from loved ones, but they must take care of themselves properly until the MCO is over.
“Take good care of yourself, always prioritise overall cleanliness and adhere to any government directives,” he added. — DayakDaily
