Two more Covid-19 fatalities reported in Sarawak

KUCHING, March 30: Sarawak recorded two new Covid-19 deaths, which brings the total number of deaths to seven as of today.

Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah in a press conference revealed that the two deaths were recorded in Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) and Miri Hospital respectively.

“Six new positive cases of Covid-19 were also reported, bringing the total number to 135 cases since March 13, 2020.

“All six cases are being treated in SGH (3), Miri Hospital (2) and Sibu Hospital (1),” he said.

At the same time, Uggah, who is also the State Disaster Management Committee (JBPN) chairman disclosed that 50 new Person Under Investigation (PUI) cases were reported today.

“This bring the total number of PUI to 1,176 cases. From that total figure, 977 cases tested negative and 64 cases are still awaiting laboratory test result.

“Apart from the seven deaths recorded, a total of nine cases have been discharged from the hospital,” he added. — DayakDaily
