MIRI, Nov 8: A 55-year-old man lost his life in a car accident early Thursday morning (Nov 7) when his vehicle veered off the road and crashed into nearby bushes along Jalan Kuala Baram Bypass.
Miri District Police Chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu confirmed the accident, stating that it occurred around 6.50am.
According to Alexson, the victim, who was driving to work, appeared to have lost control of his vehicle before it ran off the road and into the bushes.
Investigators at the scene found that the front of the vehicle was severely damaged.
The victim was rushed to Tudan Health Clinic for treatment, but medical staff were unable to save him, and he was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.
The police have opened an investigation under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 to determine the cause of the crash. — DayakDaily
