MIRI, Oct 11: A 53-year-old woman suffered a shoulder injury when the 4WD vehicle she was travelling in crashed at the Jalan Miri by-pass, near the Miri Hospital junction last night (Oct 10).
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak responded to an emergency call received at 10.13pm and immediately mobilised a team of firefighters from Lopeng Station to the accident scene.
The single-vehicle accident involved two victims, while the 52-year-old driver managed to exit the vehicle before the arrival of firefighters.
The other victim required assistance from the firefighters to get her out of the vehicle due to her shoulder injuries.
She received immediate medical attention, including application of a cervical collar for stabilisation, before being transferred to paramedics for transport to Miri Hospital for further treatment. — DayakDaily
