53yo e-hailing driver arrested for allegedly touching passenger’s thigh

KUCHING, May 12: A 53-year-old e-hailing driver was arrested by the police on Monday (May 9) for allegedly touching a female passenger’s thigh.

According to police sources, the suspect was arrested at around 10.50pm by the roadside along Jalan Marina Square by a team from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Miri District police headquarters.

In the incident, around 6pm, the victim had booked an e-hailing ride as she wanted to travel to her friend’s house in Desa Murni.


While in the vehicle, the driver allegedly touched the victim’s upper thigh.

The suspect was also reported to have been seen taken out something that look liked a spray bottle.

Fearing for her safety, the victim then rushed out of the vehicle at a traffic light nearby Tudan polyclinic.

The case is being investigated under Section 354 of the Penal Code. — DayakDaily
