KUCHING, July 21: A 50-year-old man was found dead in his bedroom at a house in Kampung Tabong, Singai, Bau, on Monday (July 20).
Bau District Police Chief Supt Mohd Haide A. Rahman said the victim was found lying on a mattress after his family members opened the locked house at about 2.10pm.
“The victim’s family member went to the house after receiving a WhatsApp message from a relative that the victim’s motorcycle was parked in front of the house and the outdoor light was still on.
“After calling out to the victim several times without any response, the family member sought the assistance of neighbours to open the house door and windows before discovering that the victim had died,” he said in a statement today.
An initial investigation also found no suspicious injuries or signs of foul play on the victim’s body. It is understood that the victim had a history of high blood pressure and diabetes.
“The case has been classified as a sudden death report (SDR),” he said.
He added that the body was sent to Bau Hospital for a post-mortem to determine the cause of death, while investigations are ongoing. — DayakDaily
