KUCHING, July 22: About 500 cyclists took part in a ‘Fun Ride’ programme held in conjunction with the Sarawak Day 2024 celebration in Bintulu.

According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) today, Sarawak Deputy Minister of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development Datuk Dr Ripin Lamat said that the 15-kilometer event saw lively participation from local cyclists.

“It was also joined by foreigners,” he told reporters when met after the event today.

The flag-off was done by Minister of Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development who is also the Minister Responsible for Sarawak Day Celebration 2024, Dato Sri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom at Bintulu Civic Centre.

Among other activities held during the event were an aerobic exercise programme organised by Ministry of Youth and Sports Bintulu.

Also present were Deputy Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performance Arts Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew, Tanjong Batu assemblyman Johnny Pang Leong Ming, and Murum assemblyman Kennedy Chukpai Ugon. — DayakDaily
