500 athletes participate in SSC State Taekwondo Championship 2022

KUCHING, June 13: About 500 exponents participated in Sarawak Sports Corporation’s State Taekwondo (WTF) Championship 2022 held at Stadium Perpaduan Negeri from June 10 to June 12.

The three-day competition including Poomsae and Kyorugi (sparring) was sanctionef by the national body, Taekwondo Malaysia (WTF) and supported by SSC.

WTF Sarawak president Azizul Annuar Adenan said it was heartening to see about 500 enthusiastic athletes from throughout the State under difficult circumstances trying to attend and participate in this annual event.


“Our team is meticulously prepared and targeting gold medals in the forthcoming Premier of Sarawak Borneo Cup International Taekwondo (WTF) Championship 2022 scheduled to take place from August 18 to 20 in Kuching,” he said in a statement today.

Present to officiate at the closing ceremony of SSC State Taekwondo (WTF) Championship 2022 was Deputy Minister for Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development, Dato Gerald Rentap Jabu.

Also present were Azizul, SSC chief executive officer-director of Sarawak State Sports Council (MSNS) Morshidi Fredrick, SSC vice president Timothy Then Yit Fui, State Technical chairman Tan Check Joon and Nestle Products Sdn Bhd representative Tony Merril Ripat. — DayakDaily
