LUNDU, Sept 23: Kampung Sungai Limo is now better connected with the completion of a 4G telecommunications tower under the Greater Kuching Coordinated Development Agency (GKCDA), bringing faster and more stable internet coverage to the rural community.
According to a news by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), the new tower strengthens telecommunications infrastructure in the area, giving residents better access to online learning, digital government services, business activities and everyday communication.
The improved connectivity also supports efforts to bridge the digital divide, particularly in rural communities across Lundu and Sematan.
With more reliable internet access, residents can tap into more opportunities in the digital economy while gaining easier access to information and online services.
The project reflects the Sarawak government’s continued efforts through GKCDA, in strategic collaboration with the Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA), to expand and strengthen telecommunications infrastructure in rural areas.
The completed project was handed over at Kampung Sungai Limo here today, in the presence of Tanjong Datu assemblyman Azizul Annuar Adenan.
Also present were SDEC representative Abang Aszman Abang Zainuddin, SMA representative Maurice Patrick Dabot, and GKCDA special administrative officer Datuk Ik Pahon Joyik. — DayakDaily
