4th Tegas Pre-Accelerator Bootcamp 2021 calls for applications

KUCHING, June 4: The fourth edition of the Tabung Ekonomi Gagasan Anak Sarawak (Tegas) Digital Innovation Hub’s Pre-Accelerator Bootcamp (TPAB) 2021 that will run virtually from Aug 1 to 7 is now open for applications.

Tegas chairman Datu Len Talif Salleh said the TPAB one-week programme is designed to teach early-stage startups from validating ideas into creating a minimum viable product (MVP) and a go-to-market strategy.

He added industry experts and seasoned entrepreneurs would be invited to cover a series of topics including business and financial modelling, product development, fundraising and pitching.

Among those mentors onboarded the programme are FutureLab chief executive officer (CEO) Brian Tan, Biji-Biji Initiative & Me.reka Group CEO Rashvin Pal Singh, RunCloud co-founder and CEO Arif Tukiman, Mindswitch founder Zaharah Malim, Fave co-founder Yeoh Chen Chow and pitchIN co-founder and CEO Sam Shafie.

Len Talif, who is also Assistant Minister of Urban Planning, Land Administrtion and Environment, said the bootcamp would prepare participants for the Virtual Demo Day to select the top three winners who get to pitch to early-stage investors and participate in Tegas Startup Lab, Tegas Social Impact Accelerator and Sarawak Shell LiveWIRE.

Demo Day winners are also set to receive packages which includes company incorporation support from Tegas, six-month access to FutureLab’s mentorship platform, free tools from ecosystem partners and three-month free co-working access to Tegas Digital Innovation Hub in Kuching, Bintulu and Miri.

“The programme is to help in accelerating the growth of local early-stage startups and social enterprises, as part of efforts to continue to spur digital innovation and entrepreneurship in Sarawak.

“Going into the fourth year conducting the Tegas Pre-Accelerator Bootcamp, we believe the programme could be a great springboard for young entrepreneurs in Sarawak to fine-tune and validate their innovative ideas before going to market,” he said in a statement today.

Meanwhile, Darmadia co-founder and also winner of TPAB 2020 Wong Qin Yuan said this pre-accelerator programme has helped in compositing the thoughts of entrepreneurs by fine-tuning their products to reflect market needs while providing great tools, mentoring and coaching. — DayakDaily
