MIRI, Jan 14: A 49-year-old local man has been detained by police last night, over the murder of a security guard whose body was found inside a room of a kindergarten building under construction in Taman Tunku.
The arrest was made less than 24 hours after the victim’s body was found yesterday morning.
Miri OCPD ACP Alexson Naga Chabu today, however, did not divulge further details on the investigation, adding that a motive for the murder is still being investigated.
Yesterday, the body of the victim was found lifeless on the floor of the room with serious injuries on his head and neck, from a sharp object.
The victim, whose identity has yet to be disclosed by the police was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel from Miri Hospital.
The case is being classified under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
