48yo man injured after vehicle rear-ends stationary cargo lorry at Jalan Kuching–Serian

KUCHING, Feb 7: A 48-year-old man sustained physical injuries when his vehicle rear-ended a stationary cargo lorry at Mile 22, Jalan Kuching–Serian, around 11.45pm last night (Feb 6).

According to a statement from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), the accident involved a Perodua Alza colliding with the back of a cargo lorry parked on the side of the road, and the driver of the vehicle was found still pinned in his seat.

Bomba also stated that firefighters from the Siburan station were dispatched to the scene and successfully extricated the victim from the driver’s seat at 12.15am.


The victim was treated at the scene before being transported to Sarawak General Hospital via ambulance for further treatment.

The firefighters then wrapped up the operation at 12.23am. — DayakDaily
