47 new Covid-19 cases reported nationwide, most from Sabah

KUCHING, Sept 13: The Ministry of Health revealed there was a total of 47 Covid-19 cases recorded in the country, comprising 45 local transmissions and two imported cases.

Out of the 45 local transmissions, 28 of them were Malaysians, while the two imported cases were recorded in Kuala Lumpur (1) involving a Maldives national and in Selangor (1) involving a Moroccan national.

“Sabah reported the highest number with 31 cases, including 22 from the Benteng cluster, while the Tawar cluster in Kedah, recorded 13 new cases.


“This brings the total number of Covid-19 cases in the country to 9,915, with 591 active cases,” the ministry highlighted in a statement today.

The ministry also revealed a total of seven patients have recovered and been discharged from hospitals, bringing the total number of recovered and discharged cases in the country to 9,196 (92.75 per cent of total cases).

It added that nine individuals are currently being treated in hospital Intensive Care Unit (ICUs), with four of them requiring respiratory assistance.

“Zero deaths involving Covid-19 were recorded today, and the death toll in the country remains at 128 cases (1.28 per cent of total cases),” the statement read. — DayakDaily
