Sarawak reports 15th consecutive day without new local Covid-19 case

KUCHING, Sept 13: Sarawak entered its 15th consecutive day without recording a local Covid-19 transmission.

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a press statement today revealed that the cumulative number of Covid-19 cases in Sarawak remains at 700.


It added that there are three patients still receiving treatment at isolation wards in hospitals at Bintulu Hospital, Sibu Hospital and Miri Hospital respectively.

The number of Covid-19 recoveried in the state also remains unchanged while the death toll stays at 19 persons.

The committee disclosed five new Person-Under-Investigation (PUI) cases were reported today and four PUI cases are awaiting laboratory results.

Meanwhile, there are 30 persons who returned to Sarawak and have checked into hotels for quarantine as Persons-Under-Surveillance (PUS) today.

Thus, there are currently 712 PUS who are undergoing quarantine in 11 hotels throughout Sarawak.

A total of 23,803 PUS have completed their quarantines as of today. — DayakDaily
