“A urine test conducted on the suspect yielded negative results, and he has no prior criminal record.

“Currently, the suspect is locked up at the Kuching police headquarters,” he said in a statement today.

Investigation documents will promptly be forwarded to the deputy prosecutor for further proceedings.

The arrest follows a police report filed regarding a viral 20-second video showing a fight between two individuals in the middle of the road along Jalan Pending at 9am on Tuesday (April 30).

The incident is thought to have started as a result of dissatisfaction with not being given the right of way.

Yesterday (May 2), Ahsmon said the investigation was conducted under Section 323/506 of the Penal Code for causing injury and criminal threats.

If convicted, the punishment may include imprisonment, a fine, or both. — DayakDaily
