46 fined for failing to observe Covid-19 SOP in state

KUCHING, Oct 23: A total of 46 individuals in Kuching were fined RM1,000 each for violating Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOP) in the last 24 hours.

State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), in a statement today, informed that police issued 51 compound notices throughout Sarawak with 46 in Kuching, two in Miri and one in Betong.

The Local Government and Housing Ministry also issued 55 oral, written and seizure notices under Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) (18), Sibu Municipal Council (SMC) (16), Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) (12), MD Marudi (six) and MD Serian (three).


Compliance checks were also carried out on 1,331 premises throughout Sarawak involving 175 supermarkets, restaurants (265), factories (12), banks (115), government offices (37), hawkers (28), markets (61), houses of worship (48), recreational areas (38), construction sites (15) and others (537). —DayakDaily
