Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Marudi personnel retrieved the body and transported it to the health clinic for confirmation by medical personnel and local community representatives.

The location where the latest victim was found was about 500 metres from the area where a child victim was previously discovered near Long Seperek.

The latest recovery brings the number of deceased victims found so far to three, including a 38-year-old man and a four-year-old child who were recovered earlier during the SAR operation.

The incident was reported after four individuals from Kampung Long Selatong, believed to have been travelling by boat to Long San Health Clinic on Monday (July 20), failed to return home and could not be contacted.

Villagers later discovered the boat believed to have been used by the group overturned in Sungai Seperot, prompting a search operation.

The search operation continues for the remaining missing victim. — DayakDaily
