428 Form 5 students in Sarawak unable to sit for SPM due to Covid-19

KUCHING, Feb 22: A total of 428 Form Five students from 32 schools throughout Sarawak could not sit for the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination due to the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) imposed to control the spread of Covid-19.

This was disclosed by State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas during a press conference to give updates on the state’s Covid-19 situation here today.

He explained that the students were unable to sit for the exam as there were some positive cases among students.

“There were 414 students who could not sit for SPM examination due to EMCO and there are 14 positive cases of Covid-19 among students.

“From that number, 205 were male students and 223 were female students,” he said. — DayakDaily
