4,150 B40 households in Batu Kawa have received food assistance

KUCHING, April 12: A total of 4,150 households from the B40 group in Batu Kawa have received their government food assistance.

SUPP Batu Kawa, which assisted in the distribution of the essential items, said deliveries have been made to Kampung Sungai Tengah, Kampung Sinar Budi Baru, Kampung Sinar Budi Lama, Taman Desa Wira, RPR Batu Kawah, Kampung Stapok, Tondong flats, Stapok area including Taman Sri Emas among others.

“All the beneficiaries have sought help through the service centre, Batu Kawa community leaders, councillors, as well as from SUPP leaders to submit their applications, which have been approved by the Welfare Department,” SUPP Batu Kawa said in a statement.

It added that since the movement control order (MCO), the service centre has distributed supplies on six occasions, dated March 28-29, April 1, 4, 8 and 11.

“With the extension of the MCO until April 28, distribution of essential goods will also be extended. Those who submitted their applications through SUPP branches and community leaders, their personal information will be updated to ensure those eligible could receive their aid during this MCO period,” the statement continued. — DayakDaily
