MIRI, July 4: A 40-year-old woman sustained injuries after her 4WD crashed and plunged into a monsoon drain near Kampung Luak at Jalan Persisir today.
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak responded to the emergency around 11am and immediately mobilised a team of firefighters from Miri Station to the location.
Upon arrival, the firefighter found the woman trapped in the driver’s seat following the single vehicle accident.
They administered first aid by applying a cervical collar and immobilising her upper limbs before carefully extracting her from the vehicle.
The victim was then handed over to the paramedics from the Ministry of Health (MOH) for further medical attention.
Suspected to have sustained a broken left shoulder and open wounds on her left arm, she was transported to the hospital by ambulance. — DayakDaily
