KUCHING, Oct 2: The youngest among 10 Covid-19 deaths reported in Sarawak today involved a 39-year-old male who had a medical history of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and drug abuse.
According to reports by the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), the victim was a brought-in-dead (BID) case at Lundu Hospital on Aug 29.
Prior to that, there was one Covid-19 fatality each on Aug 6 and 11, involving a 53-year-old male and 85-year-old female, respectively, both from Kuching and with comorbidities.
On Aug 30, Sept 1 and 23, one mortality each was reported with victims aged between 76 and 87-years-old. All three of them were from Kuching, had comorbidities and were BIDs.
Between Sept 29 and 30, there were four deaths due to Covid-19 with two on each day, and one each from Samarahan, Kuching, Betong and Kapit.
The cumulative number of deaths in Sarawak now stands at 869. — Dayakdaily
