KOTA SAMARAHAN, June 6: An accident on Jalan Ensengei here on Sunday (June 4) claimed the life of a 38-year-old woman while her five-year-old son and husband managed to escape death.
Kota Samarahan District Police Chief DSP Brodie Brangka said the accident was reportedly occurred around 8.30pm.
He said the victim and her husband as well as their 5-year-old son was riding on a motorcycle from the direction of Asajaya towards their home in Kampung Siniawan.
“While on the road, they were hit from behind by a Perodua Alza which was also moving from the direction of Asajaya.
“As a result of the collision, the rider (husband) and both passengers (wife and child) were rushed to the Sarawak Heart Centre for treatment,” he said in a statement yesterday.
He said the woman passed away while receiving treatment at the Sarawak Heart Center due to internal injuries while the rider suffered severe head injuries and their child suffered a broken leg.
The Perodua Alza driver was not injured.
The case is still under investigation under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. — DayakDaily
