36,106 students in Sarawak sitting for SPM exams, starting today

KUCHING, Nov 13: A total of 36,106 Form Five students in Sarawak are sitting for their Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination that started today.

Out of this, 33,645 or 93.18 per cent of them are from government secondary schools, 1,063 or 2.94 per cent are from private secondary schools, and the remaining 1,398 or 3.88 per cent are private individual students.

In a statement, the state Education Department said there would be 275 centres in the state. To monitor the examination statewide, 277 area supervisors and 50 invigilators were appointed.
