KUCHING, June 28: The Form Five Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) written examination will be held from January 6 to February 9 next year.
According to the Education Ministry in a press statement today, the 2020 SPM examination was supposed to be held from November 16 to December 7 this year.
The ministry revealed it rescheduled the examination to the first week of 2021 after taking into consideration certain aspects including logistics and the start of the new school term for 2021 which will be announced later.
It noted the rearrangement of the academic calendar is important to ensure that the school term for next year will be held smoothly.
The rescheduling of the said public examination was initially announced on March 28 following the Movement Control Order (MCO) arising from the Covid-19 infection in Malaysia.
Education Minister Mohd Radzi Md Jidin subsequently announced on April 15 that the dates for the public examination will be postponed to the first quarter of 2021. — DayakDaily
