BAU, Oct 30: Police are investigating the discovery of a dashcam believed to have been concealed underneath the sink in a women’s toilet at a food premises here on Thursday (Oct 29).
According to Bau district police chief Supt Mohd Haide A. Rahman, the incident came to light at about 11am after a visitor heard repeated beeping sounds while using the toilet.
He said the visitor then inspected the surrounding area and found a small black object resembling a dashcam underneath the sink.
“The discovery was reported to the premises management before the complainant lodged a police report,” he said in a statement.
Police were handed a black dashcam and a memory card to assist in the investigation. The case is being investigated under Section 509 of the Penal Code.
“So far, no arrests have been made, and police are working to identify the party responsible and determine the purpose of placing the device at the location,” he said. — DayakDaily
