SIBU, June 24: A 30-year old woman lost RM48,687 in an online job scam.
In a statement, Sibu District police chief, ACP Zulkipli Suhaili said the victim had on June 10 saw an advertisement on a Facebook account called ‘Sibu Job Vacancy’.
“As she was interested, she started to interact with the suspect. She was given 28 tasks to do in order to earn commissions,” he added.

The next day, the woman made 12 bank transfers to seven different accounts in order to get the commission.
She realised that she had been conned by the suspect when she failed to receive the promise commission.
The victim lodged a police report on June 24.
The case is being investigated under Section 420 of the Penal Code for cheating. — DayakDaily
